Organization Biography

Calling in Action was founded on the campus of Texas Christian University in the spring of 2004. What began as one small performance is now becoming a new movement in Christian arts on the campus of TCU and abroad. With 20 members in its inaugural year, the members of CIA jumped in headfirst, hosting on-campus monthly concerts and performing as featured guests at several organizational events.

The goal and passion of CIA is to spread the love of Christ and the passion of praise through dance expression. Their intent is to combine their gifts and techniques in the art of dance and incorporate them into a fervent demonstration of their faith.

CIA integrates all genres of dance into one unified organization. From ballet to hip hop, jazz to modern, cultural to liturgical, it is their objective to refine the crafts of all prominent dance expressions. Because the members of CIA have varying backgrounds, they choose to not limit themselves to only “certain” types of dance. Just as the Church is a many membered structure, it is their intent to utilize the giftings of every member of CIA to make the diversity of this body a multifaceted, unified representation of the Body of Christ.

Calling In Action ministers in Ft. Worth and surrounding areas, and performs monthly on the campus of Texas Christian University.
